Mitchell Group College or university Basis and Endowment for Excellence recently announced the institution of a new endowed scholarship honoring the lifetime and memory of Stephen Howard Kivett, the very first male graduate of the Davis School of Nursing. Kivett passed away in July 2020.
A Statesville indigenous and graduate of Statesville Large School and Mitchell Group Higher education, Kivett used his vocation as a registered nurse. He was drafted into the U.S. Military, where by he served as an Military medic for three many years although currently being stationed in Augsburg, Germany.
Soon after his return to Statesville, Kivett decided his life’s operate would be put in having care of individuals. Soon after attending Mitchell and earning his difference as the to start with male graduate of Davis College of Nursing, Kivett began his nursing job in the Essential Treatment Unit at Iredell Memorial Clinic and later turned head nurse of that unit.

He was a focused member of Western Avenue Baptist Church and taught the Steve Kivett Sunday School Class. All through his life, Kivett loved and faithfully served his family members, pals, and church.
